After eagerly waiting for 17 years to see Ms. Wolf live in concert, I can say she was well worth the wait. The band behind her could have been less dominating, allowing me to focus on the raw beauty of her voice and be awed by the precision of lyricism lacking in today's music industry. Sure, I would have liked her to slow things down a bit to bask in the nostalgia of her sound. But SHE is the artist, and SHE should be able to let her creative juices take her music wherever she sees fit without conforming to our expectations. Drop the expectations and simply enjoy the essence of REAL music, UNDENIABLE talent, PURE heart, and passion that IS Ms. Michelle Wolf. My recommendation to you is to let go of the expectations and appreciate her true artistry. I realize that with her comeback, our levels of expectation are being held over her head. Would I have preferred she slow things down a bit to allow me to bask in the nostalgia of her sound? Of course! But, SHE is the artist. SHE should be able to let her creative juices take her music wherever she sees fit without feeling the need to conform to our expectations. I heard a lot of negative chatter after the show about how she "should've" done things and what she "needs" to do with her music and her career. COME ON PEOPLE! This was her "Hello again!" to us. She's already performed her heart out to those songs when she was originally on tour for them. I completely understand her wanting to change 'em up a bit! And I am immensely looking forward to hearing her NEW STUFF! :)
